The GCHBA announces a Call for Candidates for Board of Directors

The GCHBA is soliciting candidates to fill five (5) positions on its Board of Directors. These positions are two-year terms. The application deadline is February 21, 2015.

All candidates interested in a Board position are encouraged to provide an introduction of 200 words or less. Please tell us about yourself, and how you perceive the organization can engage and support the Grand Canyon hiking community.

Candidate statements must be e-mailed to [email protected] by February 21, 2015.

Potential Board Candidates and Members that wish to vote in the Board election must be GCHBA dues paying (“Backcountry”) members.

Candidate statements will be posted for general access along with membership and ballot info. The Candidate Statements will be collected and along with a ballot will be mailed out to members on February 28, 2015.

All ballots must be returned by March 21, 2015, to be counted at the annual meeting to be held March 28, 2015. Members present at the March meeting, including any new members joining at the meeting, will be able to cast votes on site.

The annual meeting will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Arizona Hiking Shack: 3244 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018.

Additional announcements, including information on possible phone or internet access to the annual meeting will be announced on Yahoo (“Grand_Canyon_Hikers”) and Facebook (“Grand Canyon Hikers and Backpackers”), and at the GCHBA’s website.
