My father thought it would be a great idea to walk from Pierce Ferry
upriver 6 miles to Columbine Falls in the summer of 1967. It was hot,
and as a ten year old marching through miles of Tamarisk, I can recall
wondering how to get up into the towering cliffs overhead to see where
the heck we were going. Since then, to hike from the river up to vistas
above has been a passion. Happy Trails.
