Fall 2005 Service Project

The GCHBA Fall 2005 fall service project took place Monday, October 10 to Friday, October 14, 2006 at Phantom Ranch and the Bright Angel Campground.  There were two main activities, each of which required a full days effort of all the group.
bullet Removing the dams build by hikers in Bright Angel Creek. These need to be removed each year as they prevent the migration and spawning of fish in the early spring
bullet Clearing brush and debris from the irrigation ditches that wind through the Ranger Station area and campground

On Thursday five of us hiked the Utah Flats to Phantom Canyon route with three climbing Cheops Pyramid. It was Jim Ohlman's second accent, the first being more than 20 years ago.
