GCHBA Comments on Backcountry Submitted to NPS

GCHBA has submitted comments to the National Park Service in response to last year’s release of the proposed new Backcountry Management Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement.

Thanks to a group of committed volunteers from coast to coast, GCHBA was able to read, analyze, and comment on the over 600-page DEIS as well as a number of supporting reports and studies provided by NPS.

NPS has stated that their goal is to review public comments, adopt a new plan based on the draft (will possible revisions if warranted), and issue a final Plan/EIS before the end of 2016.

The full text of GCHBA’s formal comments may be viewed here.
